Your Name

The Japanese animated movies are so popular that there are English versions for the global market. "Your Name" was a highly rated movie and some of the reviews called it one of the best movies in 2016. It is a romantic story of a boy and a girl living in a different cities exchanging roles in their dreams. Then they started to find each other.

The boy took trains, buses and stopped by street corners in front of a shrine in Hida Furukawa. Since the movie was shown, Hida Furuakwa station has become a popular stop for the animates fans. What's fascinating is that the train station actually built a small step on the foot bridge so that people can look out the window and see the train track which was featured in the movie.

If you do make a stop at Hida Furukawa, explore this charming little old town which has a lot more to offer, a tranquil old street with white walled storehoues and 1,000 koi swimming in the running river, farm lands, shrines, restaurants and coffee shops with a long tables made by an ancient piece of wood. Of course, do not miss the Hida beef when you are in the area!
