For families with young children, the Anpanman Children's Museum is a not-to-be-missed attraction in Fukuoka city, Kyushu Japan. It is more like a playground rather than a real "museum" because there isn't much about the history of Anpanman. The two-storey museum features many cartoon photo spots, play areas, shops and restaurants.
Anpanman is a hero cartoon character illustrated by a Japanese illustrator and writer, Takashi Yanase. It started as children's book and became a big hit among children after it became an animated TV series in 1988. Many friends of Anpanman are introduced to keep the animate fresh and appealing to young children.
The first thing after you enter into the Museum is about taking photos. A Museum staff would invite all visiting guests to take photos in front of a backdrop. Visitors would get a small photo for FREE and an option to BUY a large photo.
The main stage with schedule dance performance of Anpanman and friends is the main attraction of the museum. Kids love it. After the performance, Anpanman and friends characters would go around to get close to the kids. They would also walk around to meet and greet children. It's fun!
There are many play areas, including bouncy castle, bouncy balls, ball pools climbs, rainbow slides, and sand boxes, that keep the kids busy and happy.
If you want to eat and drink, there are plenty of options. There are bakery, drinks, ice-cream and a proper restaurant where you can sit comfortably and enjoy a nice lunch.
