When I visited Daigoji Temple, the World Heritage site, in 2016, I thought it was the one of the best sites in Kyoto to view cherry blossom. The first temple was built in 874 by a Buddhist monk Rigen Daishi and continued to expand with the support of three consecutive Emperors: Daigo (897-930), Suzaku (930-46), and Murakami (946-67). Many politicians in powers has had close family relationship to the head of the temple, contributing to the continued expansion and construction of new halls and buildings.

Daigoji in Kyoko, Japan 日本京都醍醐寺 — Daigoji temple complex is easily accessible. Simply take a subway to Daigo Subway station in Kyoto, then walk 15 minutes following the sign. There is a shuttle bus between the subway station and Daigoji during cherry blossom but it is as fast to walk when the queue is long.
去醍醐寺的交通很方便，乘坐京都地鐵到醍醐駅，然後步行15分鐘便到達醍醐寺。櫻花季節會有特別穿梭巴士來回地鐵站和醍醐寺，但排隊的人可能很多，走路比較快。

進入三寶院後，眼前就是這百年枝垂櫻。

幸好櫻花樹有圍欄，不然的話根本沒有可能影到相。

Daigoji in Kyoto, Japan 日本京都醍醐寺 — Sanboin Temple was built in 1115 as the main house where the feudal archbishops lived. The present Sanboin was reconstructed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1598. There are halls with nice screen paintings like the one at the end of this hall but photos are not allowed. You will have to come see it yourself.
三寶院內的房間有漂亮的手繪畫，類似這大堂中間的扇間，但都不可拍照，要看的話就要親身來。

Daigoji in Koyoto, Japan 日本京都醍醐寺 — The tranquil and beautiful garden was designed by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in 1598 for the Cherry Blossom Event, and is designated as National Treasure of Japan.
這個優雅的三寶院庭園是桃山時代豐臣秀吉於1598年為「醍醐賞花會」而親自設計的，並被定為國寶。

Daigoji in Kyoto, Japan 日本京都醍醐寺 — As one of the temples for Imperial family, this special Karamon Chinese gate at Sanboin Temple only opened when Imperial messengers visited. This is also designated as national treasure.
三寶院是皇族的廟宇之一，這道特別的「唐門」是為迎接朝廷來使而設的，亦是國寶之一。

三寶院對面是靈寶館，參觀亦需購買門票。

靈寶館內的花園種有漂亮的枝垂櫻，來賞櫻花最多時間在館外拍照。

到處都是櫻花樹，任何角度都可以停下來拍照。

Daigo-ji Reihokan in Kyoto, Japan 日本京都醍醐寺靈寶館 — There are hundreds of thousands of important assets in this hall, only selected few are displayed during spring time. But most people are more interested in the cherry blossom outside.
靈寶館內藏有幾十萬件重要文物，每年春天會展示部份文物，讓市民欣賞，但大部份遊客對櫻花都較有興趣。
