If you are visiting west Japan in spring, Kobe Oji Zoo is the perfect place where everyone will enjoy. Parents can view the beautiful flowers and the children can see and touch animals, as well as to play in the amusement park.
The zoo features 130 kinds of animals and it is the only zoo in Japan where you can see giant pandas and koala in one place. It is one of the popular park, attracting 1.2 million visitors every year. In addition to animals, there is an amusement park offering fairy wheels, mini trains, rides and games for children. What’s great about the park in Japan is that all games are play on demand. So you can choose one or more games depending on your mood and time.
For those who want to see a bit of history and culture, there is a former British merchants’s house relocated in the zoo where you can visit. Built around 1889, the house was the residence of Mr. Edward-Haslette Hunter who lived and conduct trading businesses in Kobe, contributing to the economic development of the city. While you may see quite a few foreigners’ residences in Kitano-cho area in Kobe city, this is one of the bigger one in terms of space and there is no extra fee to visit.
In spring, there are cherry trees everywhere in the park, making it very enjoyable to walk around and take photos. What’s more, it’s free for children and elderlies aged over 65! It is absolutely an ideal place for families.
