Locating in Shiga Prefecture (northeast of Kyoto), Lake Biwa is the largest freshwater lake in Japan. There are eight major sightseeing spots at Lake Biwa, with Kaizu Osaki being one of the eight scenic spots and 100 best cherry blossom viewing spot in Japan. It’s amazingly beautiful.
1,000 sakura trees were planted in 1936, creating a 3.5km long cherry tree path along Lake Biwa according to the signage. But the official website says 4 km long path with 800 cherry trees. 木牌上寫著：在昭和11年（西元1936年），買了1,000株吉野櫻種植在這裏，形成了3.5公里長櫻花路。但官方網站說4公里長800株櫻花樹。Beautiful lake, blue sky and cherry blossom full bloom. Amazing view! 水天一色，滿天淺粉紅櫻花，真的很美！It’s very pleasant to walk along the lake in such a good weather. 天氣這麼好，沿著琵琶湖櫻花樹下散步真舒服。The lake is really big, the largest freshwater one in Japan, boat trips are available. 琵琶湖很大，可以乘船遊湖欣賞櫻花。If you want to view cherry blossom up close and take photos, walking is the best option. 當然拍照最好是徒步，可以隨時停下來。Along the lakeside, you will see this strip of sand in the lake where people get on/off their canoes. 沿路直走，你會看到這個小沙丘，有人扒獨木舟。The lakeside park area of Kaizu Osaki is a large lawn overlooking the Lake Biwa. 海津大崎湖岸園地是一塊大面看琵琶湖的大草地。What a wonderful day to hang out with your friends and families in such a beautiful environment on a sunny day! 大藍天陽光普照，櫻花盛開，與家人好友在山明水秀櫻花樹下野餐，真是人生一大樂事!There are food stalls selling snacks during the cherry blossom period. 賞櫻時間草地旁有小吃攤檔。It’s such a gorgeous area, I am taking more photos to share. 環境真的很美，拍多幾張照片與大家分享。Selfie in under a cherry tree by the lakeside. Nice! 大晴天，櫻花滿開，拍一張櫻花樹下湖畔照留念！At the weekends, people may walk on the main road which is the cherry tree tunnel, with the help of traffic control rationing the cars and tourists. 賞櫻時間的週末，這條車路會有交通人員管制車輛，讓遊人可以走在櫻花隧道。Transportation: Take JR to Makino Station (マキノ駅). There is a shuttle bus in front of the station during cherry blossom. Otherwise, you may take a taxi. 交通：搭乘JR湖西線在JRマキノ站下車，櫻花時間有穿梭巴士在站前直達。又或者可以坐的士。
