From 29 January to 21 February 2016, Lake Shikotsu is turned into a winter wonderland with ice sculptures made by spraying fresh water from the lake. If you want to experience a variety of Hokkaido ice festival without having to travel far from Sapporo, this festival is a good option.

Then you walk through this tunnel to the wonderland. 入場費是每人¥100，然後你會走過這條冰隧道。It gets dark around 4:30 in the afternoon. All the colorful lights are on. 日本冬天大約下午4:30左右開始日落，下午來到剛好已經全部亮燈。Lake Shikosu lce Festival looks very similar to the one in Sounkyo. 支笏湖冰濤節與層雲峽的冰層雲峽冰瀑祭很相似。The colorful lighting at night creates a great festival atmosphere. 七彩的燈光營造了一個繽紛的冰雪節氣氛。There are photo spots every where. 到處都是拍攝的景點。Colorful stalagmites created by spraying water from the lake. 從支笏湖抽河水造成的冰筍。There are ice slides for the kids. 這裏有小朋友玩的冰滑梯。This Ice Festival is very popular with a lot of people. Many of them are tour groups. 這個冰濤節有很多人，不少是旅行團。

There are a few pictures on the ground level. 相信這個主題是一個三層樓的冰畫廊，到地面中間有幾幅照片。There are fireworks at 6:30pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. 冰濤節期間每逢星期六、日和日本法定假期，晚上 6:30 就會有煙花表演。Transportation: there are event buses that run between Sapporo JR Station and the venue every day during the festival. Buses leave Sapporo at 15:15 and return at 19:30 if there are fireworks. And return earlier on weekdays.
